13 Years -- Methamphetamine Conspiracy
Sentenced to 13 years in June, 2000 for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine
I'm an inmate at FPC Pekin, Illinois. I'm a 40-year-old mother of three children, ages 18, 8 and 4. I was convicted of conspiracy of 100 grams of meth. I thought I pled to 5 years. The day before sentencing, my lawyer told me that I was to be sentenced to 13 years. I'm a first-time offender.
The sentencing guidelines are unbelievable. I take responsibility for my actions. I'm not only being punished, so are my family and children. Why must the sentencing guidelines and the government allow this all to happen?
